Re: Love is Blind

The opening came from a part of me that always wondered what it'd be like to wake up and not be able to see. Part of the healing process is mourning what you've lost. Dealing with all this other stuff, Jack is pushing this process off to the side. It's hard for him to heal with all that's going on around him. Especially since it has to do with the safety of his loved ones. And it's also the cause of his blindness. Big pain to be pushing aside.

Glad you liked the lovemaking. I do like writing humor and both of the OC had great senses of humor. Ennis had that dry humor and Jack open in-your-face funny. I try to convey the same in this fic. The pot smoking was a surprise. It came along in my second draft. I changed it a lot because Judy pointed out that Ennis is my story would not be a novice to smoking it. So I toyed with it a bit. I like the end product.

Like that you picked up on the protective parent on Ennis' end. Don't think Linden wants that, but he does need it. And in the long run this is a friendship that will be around awhile. It's the first gay man they've made friends with together and that in itself is a step. Linden feeling embarrassed is healthy for all of them-- but most of all, Ennis calling him out on it is a huge step for Ennis.

Thanks so much for reading.

Love,
