Fabulous chapter. I so love Linden. The man is so smart and so put together in so many ways and yet when it comes to love he's a lost, confuse child...which only makes you love him even more. My heart broke for him. He has convince himself that no man would be attracted to him and when he finally come across a hot and sexy man who is, he's afraid of it. I'm glad that Jorge placed it in Linden's hand if this relationship advance in anyway. Hopefully by forcing Linden he will be able to see just how desirable a man he is!
Love Jack's sly wickedness/guilt in terms of knowing that Linden is listening to him and Ennis' lovemaking. There's truthfulness about it. Jack knows - intellectually - that Linden isn't a threat. Ennis will always be his. But on an emotional level its only natural that Jack wishes for Linden to know, That Ennis Del Mar is mines, mines, mines. SO HANDS OFF!! That's human natural but of course Jack being Jack he also naturally feels guilty about it.
Jack and Linden talk was great. Linden can tell that Jack is plotting to do more and Linden is determined to make Jack realize that asking for help is not a sign of weakness. While Jack's reasoning is understandable, Ennis and Linden is there for him. Don't shut them out. Hope Jack listen before its too late. I also love Linden's description of Ennis and Jack's thought process:
Over the last few days, Linden had gotten to know Jack fairly well-- he realized Jack's mind was sharp, always searching. Ennis was smart too-- but a different kind of sharp. Ennis was nature- and season-savvy. Jack was people savvy. Linden knew part of it was Jack's sales background, but it was more than that. The reason why Jack excelled at sales was because he could read people. Linden bet that sales honed a skill Jack already had.
PERFECT!!
el_wing I hope you know that along with FLEA, Nina is the best dog in all of BBslash fiction!! The deep concern that Jack, Ennis and Linden has for her in terms of the danger that could possibly face her was real because we readers feel the same way. She has become an important character to this story and like those moments in which we feared that FLEA would be taken away in Fridayblues' story, the idea that something could happen to Nina is a scary thought! In fact you and Blues should write a one-shot in which Nina and Flea meet. I'm sure they would make beautiful puppies together!! (laughing out loud)
The plot just takes getting thicker and thicker!! Can't wait for the next installment!!
